This 1B organization’s leadership team and Board of Directors comes from exceptional global companies and is poised for significant growth organically and through acquisitions. This position will support the VP of R&D, VP of Marketing and approximately 100+ sales, marketing and product development professionals and will report to the Chief Human Resources Officer, Susan Hunsberger.

Susan Hunsberger has served as Chief Human Resources Officer since July 2020. Prior to joining Simply Good Foods, Ms. Hunsberger was Chief Human Resources Officer at ServiceMaster and had various Human Resources roles with The Nielsen Company, GE Aviation, Johnson & Johnson and Marathon Oil.

Ms. Hunsberger received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Personnel Management from Miami University and a Master’s Degree in Organization Development from Bowling Green State University.

The Position

The Senior Director Human Resources will serve as a key business leader within the El Segundo office of Simply Good Foods, responsible for cultivating an environment that embodies the company’s mission and values, and thereby ensuring continued growth. The Simply Good Foods Company corporate office is based in Denver, CO.

Responsibilities

 

The Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the Company’s talent strategy, aligning programs with business objectives.

  • Proactively build HR programs that enhance a culture based on company values, maintaining an engaged environment.

  • Build and implement training infrastructure to develop employees, leaders, and the organization.

  • Provide leadership in recruitment, onboarding, and performance management. Actively support leaders in the planning and acquisition of strategic hires.

  • Collaborate with functional leaders and lead HR’s ability to provide business-focused solutions.

  • Assist in leading the engagement of employees, enabling management teams to tackle specific challenges and business objectives. Serve as a coach who builds organizational capabilities, reduces complexity, and partners with peers to maximize team performance.

  • Build effective relationships and partner with functional and business leaders to develop and execute both long-term and short-term HR strategies that directly support and enable business objectives.

  • Provide active leadership, in partnership with business leadership teams, on HR and talent issues such as total reward strategy, employee relations, talent management, performance management, organizational development/change, culture, leadership, and learning and development.

  • Develop the annual office budget for support staff, premises, supplies and other local costs, and manage those costs to the budget.

  • Assist in effectively integrating future acquisitions.

 

Qualifications

 

The Qualifications

  • 15 years experience in a human resources capacity with increasing responsibility, including at least five years in a functional and team leadership role.

  • A track record of support for company strategies through developing and implementing results- focused HR processes and initiatives.

  • Strong understanding and proven application of organizational development and organization design practices.

  • Outstanding interpersonal, coaching and listening skills with the ability to communicate within all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with senior functional leaders.

The Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources or related discipline. 

  • Advanced degree preferred but not required.
